Notes:
- Pink Shirt Day is this Wednesday. Students (and adults too!) are encouraged to wear a pink shirt to show their commitment to stop bullying.
- The snow is incredible out there! Please make sure your child is dressed to go outside and play in the snow. Snow pants are a great idea so that the students can build those fabulous forts and slide on the hills without having to be soaking wet for the rest of the day.
Curriculum:
- Math: We will be moving into fractions less than 1 this week. You can help at home by showing your child things that are divided into fractions, or equal groups. Division plays a big role in understanding fractions, so continuing to practice these basic facts will help.
- L.A.
- Spelling: Lesson 10 come home this week
- Writing: We are working towards writing a persuasive essay. You can help at home by having your child express and defend his or her opinion on a topic.
- Science: We are going to be starting our new unit, Waste In Our World shortly.
- Social: Our journey through the Canadian Shield region continues. We will be looking at the vegetation and animal life of the region, what life is like in Fort Chipewyan, and the natural resources found there.
