By the end of grade 4, students are expected to understand and recall multiplication and division facts up to 7x7 off by heart. To help students get there, here are some strategies they can use. Not all strategies work for all students, and not all are necessary. Click here to see more about the math curriculum.
- Skip count (the songs are great!)
- Draw an array or picture of the groups
- Use a multiplication table
- Practice using flash cards
- Play a game!

Multiplication/Division Games:
- Multiplication Snap (2 players): Using a deck of cards, deal half to each player. Each player lays down a card in the middle. The first one to multiply the cards wins the cards. To win, get all the cards in your hand.

The 1’s and 0’s
