Week of May 28 - June 1, 2018

The field trip to Fort Macleod was awesome!  We learned a lot, saw so many things, and had a lot of fun.  Our students made us proud.  Thank you so much to all the wonderful volunteers who joined us today.

Curriculum:
  • Math: We are continuing to work on double digit multiplication.
  • L.A.
    • Spelling: We are not going to be sending home spelling words this week with how broken up the week is.  Instead, we will be doing some year end spelling assessments.
    • Writing:
  • Science: This week we will explore more about seeds including what is inside a seed and different types of seeds.
  • Social: The field trips we take this week are both Social field trips.  The Fort Macleod trip covers the fur trade, life at the Fort, the North West Mounted Police and a bit about First Nations culture.  The field trip on Friday will be about Treaty 7.  In class, we will learn about the towns that formed in Alberta; the challenges and changes that occurred in the 1930s; and finally a quick glimpse at Alberta during World War II.
